Intermediate Mechanical, Electrical I&C and Civil Engineer – Kincardine Office

Position Location: Kincardine Ontario

As a company, RCM Canada Corp has a history of dealing with the critical nuclear plant safety systems (as opposed to balance of plant, HVAC etc.).  These systems carry with them the most stringent design and quality requirements in the nuclear industry.  Having performed significant scopes of EPC work on these systems, we are experienced in implementing the full range of EPC functions in the required high quality nuclear environment. Our broad industry knowledge includes the following core competencies:
“High-quality level, multi-discipline nuclear engineering design, procurement and construction management”.

General Duties:

  • Prepare or verify, including PEO certification/sealing as required, engineering products such as:
  • Engineering, Technical, and Procurement specifications
  • Engineering drawings, design/stress reports, engineering calculations and equipment/system design in accordance with all applicable codes and standards
  • Code related calculations and reports as required
  • Design Plans and associated documents to customer specifications
  • Project specific instructions as required
  • Accountable for the technical interpretation, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments and is assigned projects with unique problems that have major organizational impact and may involve exploration of the subject area, definition of scope, and development of novel concepts and approaches.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Mechanical engineers: Nice to Have; Fire Protection, HVAC, Containment Boundary, Familiarity with Nuclear Engineering, Pressure Vessel & Pressure Piping Code

Electrical engineers: Nice to Have; Building Automation, Fire Protection, SCADA, HMI, PLCs, Control Systems, MV/HV, protection principles and relaying, switchyard/substation and power distribution

Field Engineers: Nice to Have; Knowledge of Valves, Failure Analysis, Testing & Commissioning, Construction & Design 


  • Graduate degree in a relevant area of study from a university of recognized standing and is a member of PEO or eligible to be a member of PEO
  • Familiarity with complex engineering concepts, practices and procedures and regulatory requirements relative to the design and operation of a Canadian Deuterium (CANDU) power plant is an asset.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to interact well at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to work within a multi-discipline team environment and take direction from coworkers and superiors
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, work well under pressure, and respond rapidly to changing demands
  • Results oriented and takes ownership of assigned tasks, strong multi-tasker and team player
  • Must have the ability to be flexible and work with competing priorities.
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access a plus
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada


  • Fast paced environment, repetitive computer work
  • Minor lifting related to an average desk position, supplies/reports etc.
  • Interaction with various persons/clients internal and external, requires mental dexterity and attention to detail
